Since 1945, E.L. Hilts & Company has set the standard for quality and
service in the roofing industry. Our commitment to these ideals forged the decision in
1989 to acquire over 6 acres of prime property and a 44,000+ square-foot facility located
on a major highway in Hickory, North Carolina.
With new warehouse and office space, this move permitted product line expansion and the
capability to house inventory on a ready-to-ship basis. The move also served to reinforce
the service philosophy on which our company was founded - to be the best supplier of
roof equipment and tools in the industry.
These commitments to quality, innovation, and service are without equal in this business.
The Hilts Service department ensures our customers of timely response and delivery to meet
a wide range of needs. Indeed, it is this support staff and our sales force that have
shaped the company's success. Our dedicated employees, coupled with management's energy
and resources, assure you that E.L. Hilts & Company can supply all your roofing
equipment and tool needs.

Hilco Classic Roof
Cutter
The Hilco
Classic Roof Cutter is built much the same as the old original
roof cutter so many of you know and like. It does have a few
modern additions: a single point lifting and stabilizer bar, and
improved drive belt and pulley system (although the same diameter
belt is still utilized), and we are offering some engine
improvements through our unique air cooled foam hat and debris
system.

The Hilco Folding Warning Line System
E.L. Hilts & Co. was the first to develop and market a
warning line system for professional roofing contractors. We are
very proud of our legacy in this field, and now we want to
continue this legacy with a new and improved product line.
There are a number of advantages to using the new Hilco
One-Piece Folding Warning Line System. Here are just a few:
a) The base stands are very
lightweight - less than 25 lbs. each, as compared to 40-50
lbs. for
some other models. They are also very
compact when folded, and are easily handled and
stored.
b) They are only one piece - as compared to other models which
comprise at least two pieces.
Multiple piece warning line systems have
always been frustrating for contractors because
part "a" inevitably gets
separated and lost from part "b". In addition, the
uprights or rods on
some of the other systems often break off
from the bases over time. This cannot happen with
the new Hilco One-Piece Warning Line
System. And there are no part to lose or replace.
c) Each set includes a flag reel. Storing the 100-foot flag line
when the system is not in use has
always been a problem. Typically these
flag lines get wadded or wrapped up into a mess that
can never be untangled. With the new
Hilco flag reel system, 100-feet of flag line can now be
quickly and neatly wound up and kept
conveniently stored until the next use. The flag reel can
be easily mounted onto any Hilco Folding
Warning Line base. Each set contains one flag reel.
d) There are only three stands needed to achieve a 100-foot system
which will meet or exceed all
of OSHA's requirements. Most systems
require four stand bases.
To use the Hilco One-Piece Folding Warning Line System
simply pull the pin out and slide the leg down. The slip-pin then
feeds itself into the bottom hold, which is the position in which
it is used on the roof. When done, simply pull the pin back out
and pull the leg back up to the folded position.
